Gas Prices

Gas prices, gas prices, gas prices. That's all you hear on the news for the past few months, it's also all you hear about everywhere. Everyone is complaining about the price of gas and how expensive it is. They blame OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) , The Bush administration, the war, we aren't drilling in the US, why don't we drill in ANWR (Arctic National Wildlife Refuge)located in northeast Alaska, on and on and on.

But, have you really stopped to think about how the price of gas compares to other things that we purchase? Have you stopped to think about how gas prices compare if you are comparing apples to apples? What I mean by that is converting everything to gallons and comparing the price equivalent. Let's do that now--Average price of gas in Dallas as of 5/14/08 is $3.60.

128oz = 1 Gal.

Bottle of cologne 3.4oz @ $59.95
(128oz /3.4oz = 37.649 bottles)
(37.649 bottles x $59.95) = $2257.05 a gal.
1 gallon of gas = $3.60 compared to 1 gallon of cologne = $2257.05

Cup of Coffee 14oz @ $1.89
(128oz / 14oz = 9.143 cups)
(9.143 cups x $1.89) = $17.28 a gal
1 gallon of gas = $3.60 compared to 1 gallon of coffee = $17.

Here is just a couple of comparisons for you to think about. Not only that, but there are other countries who are paying much more for gas then we are in the U.S.

So, as you can we don't have it as bad as a lot of other countries.
Tell me what you think?

It's terrible that everything has been so expensive nowadays, a gallon of gas here is $3.75 it's equivalent to a gallon of milk. Buying a gallon of gas is just like pouring a milk into your car. sucks!

Btw, I have already added you days ago..Thanks for verifying.TC!
