A Day To Ourselves

Those of you who have kids will appreciate what I’m talking about. Not that we don’t love our kids and like being with them 24x7, we all need a break from responsibility sometime. The break for us came today.

I don’t know how it happens; I guess the stars were in-line or maybe a full moon, Marie and I actually are off work on the same day. No little one running around because he has school today—thank God for school. Don’t get me wrong I love having my son around, but sometimes you just need a break.

Even though we had time together we really didn’t do much with the time. My wife slept in till about 10:00am, but I was up at 6:45am so I could get the little guy ready for school. I came home and started blogging--DAMN that blogging is addictive. I’m ADDICTTED, sshhhhh don’t tell anyone. Marie had a two hour meeting for work, then we went out to a late lunch and that was it. Where does the time go? We then went to get the little guy from school and went swimming. By the way it is damn hot here in Texas, 90 degrees. It is only May and we have had two days of 100 degree indexes already. Can you imagine how hot is going to be when it is full blown summer, 90-108 degrees—not really looking forward to that.

Now that this day is over it’s back to reality, responsibility, no more peace and quiet and hearing the words daddy this, daddy that, daddy what, daddy look, daddy can I have this, daddy, daddy, daddy!!!!!! I am going to change my name…

But like I said, I love my son and love having him around. Those of you who have kids will understand and those of you who don’t soon will. Those of you who don’t plan on having kids; do you want to baby-sit? LOL, just kidding.
